Courteney Cox Goes Monica Mode Cleaning Hollywood Stars on Walk of Fame

Courteney Cox is very well known by many as the iconic star of the popular 90s sitcom FRIENDS. The actress played Monica Geller, a character who was obsessed with order and cleanliness and was as competitive as it could get. Cox was recently given her own star on the Hollywood walk of fame and was joined by her friends as well as family members. It also included Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, two of her castmates from the show. She visited the walk of fame this Wednesday to clean the stars that had her and her friends’ names on them.

Courteney Was Always Monica

Cox has starred in films and shows after FRIENDS. However, it looks like her character never truly left her. Cox was recently awarded stars on the walk of fame, and now, Cox made a funny video cleaning the stars.

Someone’s gotta do it,she captioned the video of herself shining up her star as Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 played in the background. Was this a clever promotional job? The video featured Cox using her line of home cleaning products, Homecourt. She claims that her products are like “beauty products for the home,” well, that sounds like something only Monica could say.

Cox was often found going through people’s drawers and organizing and cleaning them on the set of FRIENDS. Now, she was seen cleaning the stars of her friends too. She would clean one and move on to another. She cleaned Reese Witherspoon’s star, who appeared in the show as Rachel’s sister before making her career in movies to come.

“Literally right on the star. You can go around!” she told pedestrians, trying to relive her time as Monica Geller on the set of FRIENDS, which aired its final and heartbreaking episode in 2004. The show had a brilliant run of ten years and made all the actors and actresses household names for everyone.

“Thanks for keeping us clean, Court!!,” said Reese Witherspoon, with Kudrow saying: “Only the best thing ever,” it’s interesting to note that Lisa Kudrow is the only leading cast member from FRIENDS not to have a Hollywood star on the walk of fame. She did, however, attend Cox’s ceremony and said kind words about her as her friend received her star. She talked about how Cox, Aniston, and she have been sisters to each other ever since they bumped into one another on the set of FRIENDS.

The cast of the show has rarely come together all at once. Last, they were seen together on Friends: The Reunion, a documentary that was an hour and a half long, where cast and crew members came together to reminisce their days of working on the show. Since then, there hasn’t been a single time when the whole cast was together.

Interestingly, the male members of the cast were also absent from Cox’s star reception ceremony. David Schwimmer has previously noted how the entire cast of FRIENDS has only been altogether only twice after the show ended back in 2004.

Regardless, it seems like Cox has kept the heart and soul of her character alive. She was the first woman to say the word ‘period’ on TV and perhaps one of the first few to normalize things like OCD and being a neat freak. Today, Cox lives on, and the memory of everyone’s favorite, Monica Geller, still keeps going.

FRIENDS, in fact, was and still is so popular that it is still making the stars millions in residuals and also making Warner Bros a lot of money.
