‘Peter Pan and Wendy’ Trailer Out—Film Arrives On Disney+ April 28th

What’s your favorite fairy tale? Well, if your answer is Peter Pan, you’re in luck. Disney is now very well known for dropping really good fairy tale films, whether they’re live-action or animated. Now, the studio is ready to let it go with Peter Pan and Wendy, a live-action adaptation of, you guessed it, “Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.” 

The story follows Wendy and her brothers discovering Pan and following him into Neverland. What a smart idea, what could possibly go wrong? Or so you thought, but Pan and Wendy end up in trouble after the evil Captain Hook starts hunting them down. Here’s the official synopsis:

Wendy Darling, a young girl looking to avoid boarding school, meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Wendy, her brothers, and Tinker Bell travel with Peter to the magical world of Neverland, where she encounters an evil pirate captain.

The film is a remake of Disney’s classic animated tales. The film is directed by our favorite, David Lowery, who is also responsible for Pete’s Dragon, a 2016 film. It would appear that Lowery has a taste for fairy tales. Perhaps it’s an acquired taste. You may be wondering who the perfect picks are for the cast of Peter Pan and Wendy. Well, to enlighten you, Jude Law is playing Captain Hook, need we say more?

Alexander Molony is playing the infamous fairy tale character Peter Pan, and Ever Anderson is your new Wendy Darling. So, whether you like peter pan mermaids or not, this time, Disney’s casting is rather perfect. Of course, the last time Disney cast a mermaid, people were pretty mad. 

A live action peter pan is a bold choice for Disney but not an unexpected one. Among the many hoards of your favorite remakes, this animated one has a common story.
