‘Yellowstone Season 5‘ Will Probably Not Air This Summer

Published

on

There are major delays up ahead for the second half of Yellowstone season 5. The issues have arisen after multiple reports of Kevin Costner, the star of the show, exiting the series. Keith Cox, who is the president of development and production at Paramount, looked rather positive.

He was certain that Costner will stay with them for the rest of the show. And just think about how Yellowstone could be Yellowstone without the main guy! But things are looking weird for the series now. So, if you’re wondering when is Yellowstone season 5 going to air, the answer is no one knows! Let’s break it down.

Yellowstone Season 5

Cox appeared on a panel at the PaleyFest event. He was open to talking about the future of the famous series, but lo and behold, not much about Costner. Reports of Kevin Costner leaving Yellowstone have been around for a while now. Fans are apprehensive but Cox does not share their sentiment. Here’s what he had to say about the so-called ‘rumors’:

“What I can say is our star, the face of our show, and the executive producer, are very confident he’s going to continue with our show.”

If only Costner or his reps talked to anyone about the issue. Yellowstone season 5, part 2 was meant to make its return this summer. However, a number of cast members, including Costner, were absent from this PaleyFest panel. Is it a coincidence that everyone is busy at the same time? Fans are now speculating about an untimely cancellation of the beloved series.

Even the creator of the show, Taylor Sheridan, was missing from the whole event. It becomes even more intriguing when you realize that Costner, Sheridan, Gil Birmingham, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, and Jacki Weaver were among the many who were supposed to show up. The first part of season 5 started airing in November last year.

Josh Lucas on Yellowstone Season 5 as Costner

Costner is reportedly trying to step back from Yellowstone to focus on his directorial abilities. He’s currently trying to work on a Western project called Horizon. The reports

flew around Hollywood after Matthew McConaughey was reported to star in a spinoff for Peacock. The panel finally had one of the stars of the show, Josh Lucas, in it. Lucas explained Sheridan’s final vision for the show.

“And so you know that that’s just … the evolution of what the ranch is. That’s why when you see the cemetery and you see the names of Elsa and you see the names of Jacob and you see these names,” said Lucas at the panel.

According to him, things are going to change. This means that perhaps Sheridan had prepared for an exit by Costner. It’s sufficient to say that Yellowstone season 5 is going to be as unpredictable as they come.

“I think it’s of course going to evolve and change,” said Lucas. “And I think that’s what hopefully people will really like as it goes.”

So the question remains, will Kevin Costner really leave the series behind? If he does, will it ever be the same? Welp, looks like some questions only find answers away from the present.
